Jesus is coming! Are those not the sweetest words you've ever heard? Doesn't that just make your heart jump thinking about it? Jesus is coming! I want to shout that from the rooftops! JESUS IS COMING!
God was preparing His people of the coming Messiah since the fall of man. God was shouting Jesus is coming for all to hear. He was preparing them. The Old Testament is a trail that leads to the Messiah.

PREPARING THE WORLD FOR JESUS
God told us Jesus was coming in Genesis 3:15 He promised that one special man from the woman’s seed would destroy the works of the devil, although He would be wounded in the process.
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
A PROMISED RULER FROM BETHLEHEM
Micah the prophet prepared the people for the coming of the Messiah. Micah 5:2 has a special place in the Christmas story because when the Wise Men asked Herod where the King of the Jews was to be born, since Herod didn’t know, he asked the Priests. The Priests quoted Micah 5:2
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
MESSIAH WOULD BE BORN OF A VIRGIN
The prophet Isaiah told us how Jesus was coming and what His he would be called.
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel.
MESSIAH WOULD COME FROM THE LINE OF ABRAHAM
God chose Abraham's family line to provide redemption for all mankind
Genesis 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
MESSIAH WOULD BE A DESCENDANT OF JACOB
